![]() ![]() Yes the Flirc software can be finicky and it cost me a lot of hair pulling until I just accepted that sometimes it works great and sometimes not at all. I should point out that I use Windows for this. When I first downloaded the Flirc software and updated the firmware everything was fine but sometimes the Flirc works fabulously and sometime I get no response. This was after reprogramming the number keys to letters with the Flirc software, full keyboard. It was great to find out that sequences are no longer restricted to only 5 steps. I created another sequence that used a combination of 7 letters followed by Select. I had trouble with pause/play but adding the spacebar via flirc software fixed that. ![]() I fixed that by going back into the myharmony and dragging those keys over again. Then sync the remote.Ī lot of the keys worked right away but some like the play pause ff etc would not. Now when I first got the Flirc I added Flirc/Kodi as a device in myharmony software then added that device to my activity. Starting kodi and shutting down the laptop were done by key combos I had setup in Ubuntu 20.04 and mapped to Flirc full keyboard 8 and 9 key. I was able with Flirc to reprogram the number keys to enough letters etc to put in my password and one key combo to start kodi and one key combo to shut down the computer. I do not have WakeOnLAN so I have to physically get up and do that. When finished and exited kodi I would use the mouse to power off the laptop. I used a keyboard combination to start and navigate kodi. The next step was to use the keyboard to enter my password, then I had a script that disabled pulse on autostart. I had a harmony activity called laptop that just controlled my tv and denon receiver and I would start that. Prior to Flirc I would open my laptop lid and press the power button then close the lid and let the laptop boot. I have succeeded and will detail it all here. I was hoping to eliminate them and just use my harmony to control it all. My laptop prior to getting the Flirc was navigated by keyboard and mouse. Another for the firestick which has not been implemented yet. It still is a fantastic piece of equipment for $35 on sale. I have kodi on my firestick also but it does not support audio passthrough for DTSMA etc. This is my experence with Flirc and my harmony 665/700. I'll have to keep an eye out for a sale can't justify $100.My Home Theatre now consists of a Firestick 4k and a laptop running Kodi. Were you able to get PikTV power on/off function to work as well with the Harmony 665? I love this remote, I may get a second one while they are on the maker and model number that works with piktv box. I love this remote, I may get a second one while they are on sale. and also modes for my bluray player and smart tv and apps. In the end now I've got the harmony remote working for my sound bar with piktv. it booted up and after hitting a few buttons on the telus piktv remote it went back to bluetooth mode. You don't have to unpair the remote, just take out the power from the piktv box and battery out and in on the remote.Īfter learning I plugged power into the piktv. When I tested the remote buttons they then flashed red (indicating IR mode) rather than green which is the bluetooth mode. and then took out one battery from the remote, and then put it back in. All I did was unplug the pik tv so the power was off. So to do that you go to devices, click on the Arcadyan dvr (it calls it a dvr) then click on add commands and you can have it relearn commands there or add new ones, I added the pik tv button and the on demand buttons.Īlso to get the remote from telus to work with IR so you can learn the very few missing buttons. I think it's the same.įor the back button I made it learn the command, because the default was exit. I used the LG Harmony 665 remote but I'm sure the 650 works too. Is the maker and model number that works with piktv box. ![]()
